Lenkin Design Helps Ronald McDonald House

A Home Away From Home

We are very proud and incredibly honored to be creating the new landscape design of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House (LARMH). Our firm is creating a functional and beautiful landscape and gardens on the LARMH campus on a pro-bono basis.

For more than 25 years, LARMH has offered a safe, nurturing environment for families with children undergoing treatment for cancer and other life-threatening and debilitating illnesses.

Meeting the needs of families with children at hospitals as close as Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and as far away as Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, LARMH provides accommodation and services for over 1,000 families a year facing the most emotional and difficult time in their lives. The House serves as a haven of hope where families can share experiences and offer comfort to each other.

In keeping with the Ronald McDonald philosophy of a ‘home away from home’ the gardens will provide a sense of calm for both the children and their families. Of course, with children in mind, there will be play areas too, where the little ones and their siblings can enjoy fresh air and a safe, green environment in which to play.

Please consider joining us in this effort to create a home away from home for families who are in need. You can do this one of two ways: by making a cash donation or by purchasing items – plants, furnishings or umbrellas – that are being used in the design. Every contribution will be greatly appreciated and acknowledged! If you are able to purchase an area e.g. “The Building Perimeter”, “The Fountain Court”, “The Main Courtyard”, we would be honored to give your name to the area.

Simply email Iliana Tavera at itavera@larmh.org or call (323) 644-3083 and let us know which items you would like to contribute.

We thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity.
