Heather Lenkin Tiffany Garden Wins AARS First Prize

The Heather Lenkin Tiffany Garden, sponsored by Tiffany & Co., has won the All America Rose Selection's national 'Designing with Roses' competition.

Tiffany Garden?
The beautiful Tiffany pendant entitled 'A Palette of Sapphires' inspired the design. This garden was created by Heather Lenkin for the 2007 LA Garden Show. The sale of this garden will benefit the LA Arboretum's
Artist in Residence Program as well as the Harvey and Kitty Lenkin Pet Assisted Therapy program at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. This contemporary knot garden was inspired by the magnificent blush, purple, and yellow sapphires of a dazzling Tiffany & Co. necklace and contains over nine varieties of roses and sparkling glass 'mulch'.

Living Jewelry
Rosa cl. ‘Social Climber’ emerges from the center of the design. Climbing roses and the verticality of the maypole are some of the ways in which Lenkin responded to the challenges of translating an essentially flat object into three dimensions. This show garden had to read from further away than the closely groomed hedges and bushes would allow.

10 Great Roses - Tiffany Garden

  • Barbara Streisand
  • Moonshadow
  • Perfumed Perfection
  • Neptune
  • Blue Girl
  • Fragrant Plum
  • Paradise
  • Tiffany (of course!!!)
  • Julia Child

Cool Stuff
Smith and Hawken provided four Giverny benches for the event. The formality of this garden mandates that it is viewed from outside its borders. The benches emphasize this and provide a place to rest, gaze and be inspired by its magic.
