Thank You!

We just wanted to thank everyone for visiting us yesterday! Preliminary estimates are that about 1,200 people came through the six gardens on Sunday's tour, making it the largest turnout ever in Pasadena! The weather could not have been better; it was truly a gorgeous day, and we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Special thanks to Gale Kohl of Gale's Restaurant in Pasadena for providing the marvelous homemade biscotti at the guest table, to Steven Carmona and Tommy Farmer of Tommy Farmer Studios for their expertise in making sure everything was perfect, to Pasadena Awning for their great work, and, of course, to the great Garden Conservancy team, for making all of this possible! And we are all indebted to the owners of these magnificent properties for investing in a legacy of beauty and so graciously allowing us to enjoy the fruits of their labor! Thanks again to everyone!

For those of you who missed it, here is the yesterday's handout that gives an overview of the property. Click the image for a larger version.

Thank you to everyone at Lenkin Design for your hard work making Open Days Pasadena such a success!

Such elegance looks effortless but us gardeners know that it is the result of many cold, muddy, achey days and hot, sweaty, achey days!

Heather was a very gracious hostess
(also Steven and Jocelyn)and Il Villino Rosa was the jewel of the day.

Many thanks to the owners for sharing their estate for this event!

Heather did not mention it on her post but should give herself credit for contributing to the Arroyo preservation efforts. Maybe you will do a post(or two) about what is being done about that, how hydroseeding is done, what wildflowers were planted and
of course a blooming photo!
